Scholarship Information 2012-2013 Updated: January 8th, 2013

​Students should check the school website (under Guidance) and edline regularly for information on scholarships and other graduation details as information is updated weekly. Most Scholarships will be available during the second semester. However, here are some scholarships with upcoming deadlines:
 
1)   Herbert Carnagie Future Aces Award - Deadline: January 15th, 2013
Value: $1,000
Criteria: the applicant must be participating in activities that focus on character, community service, volunteerism, and humanitarian causes.

2) Union Plus Scholarship Program - Deadline: January 31st, 2013
Value: range from $500-$4,000
Criteria: Applicant must be a dependent of a member of a union participating in Union Plus (if you’re unsure, ask a parent). The application will be based on academic achievement, social awareness, Financial need, and appreciation of labour

3) The Debut Atlantic Award for Musical Excellence - Deadline: January 31st, 2013
Value: $1,000 and appear as a Special Guest at a Debut Atlantic Concert
Criteria: The award is given to student who demonstrates musical talent and a commitment to the serious study of music.

4) Investors Group Amateur Athletes Fund Application - Deadline: January 31st, 2013
Value: $5,000 (20 available)
Criteria: Must be an active senior national team athlete

5) Arts NB - Deadline: February 1st, 2013
Value: unspecified
Criteria: The student must be able to demonstrate artistic ability and be attending an art related program in the fall.

6) Kin Canada Bursary - Deadline: February 1st, 2013
Value: $1000 (many available)
Criteria: Student must demonstrate high ideals and qualities of citizenship

7) Terry Fox Humanitarian Award - Deadline: February 1st, 2013
Value: 20 at unspecified amount
Criteria: The candidate must be someone who is going to post-secondary in the fall at an accredited institution, has overcome an obstacle in their life, and has volunteered to help others in need.

8) Top 20 Under 20 - Deadline: February 1st, 2013
Criteria: The student must demonstrate significant leadership, innovation, and achievement and has gone above and beyond to make the world a better place.

9) Fred Ross Scholarship - Deadline: February 15th, 2013
Value: $4000
Criteria: Applicant must be a student attending a post-secondary program in the visual arts or craft program.

10) Toyota Earth Day Scholarship - Deadline: February 15th, 2013
Value: 20 at $5,000
Criteria: This is for a student who is very involved with the environment and helping to make the earth a cleaner place. The applicant must also be going to post-secondary in the fall.

11) RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program - Deadline: February 28th, 2013
Value: $4,000 per year for up to 4 years (10 awarded)
Criteria: Applicant must be an aboriginal student going into a post-secondary program in the fall.

12) Miller Thomson Scholarship - Deadline: March 1st, 2013
Value: $3,000 (100 awarded nationally)
Criteria: Application is evaluated on academic achievement, school and community involvement

13) Co-op Atlantic-McEwen Scholarhip - Deadline: March 1st, 2013
Value: $1,000 annually
Criteria: Member or dependent of a member of a Co-op Atlantic or full time or part-time employee or dependent of a full-time employee of Co-op Atlantic.

14) Currie Undergraduate Scholarship - Deadline: March 1st, 2013
Value: $50,000
Criteria: The student will be attending UNB in the fall of 2013 and will be evaluated on their leadership abilities, community and school involvement and evidence that they have overcome a difficult obstacle in their life.

15) Harrison McCain Foundation Scholarship - Deadline: March 1st, 2013
Value: $16,000 over 4 years
Criteria: The student must be attending post-secondary studies at a university and will be evaluated on financial need, leadership qualities, and a recognized effort to fund their own education.

16) Beaverbrook Scholars Award - Deadline: March 1st, 2013
Value: $40,000 over 4 years
Criteria: The student must be attending UNB in the fall and will be evaluated based on financial need, high academic ability, and community involvement.

17) Leonard Foundation Scholarship - Deadline: March 15th, 2013
Value: $1,000-$1,500
Criteria: Preference will be given to sons or daughters or clergy, teachers, military personel, graduate of an engineering or mining institute. Applicants will also be evaluated on financial need. (Household income not to exceed $55,000). Applicants must also be willing to work part time during their studies.

Criteria: The student must be attending UNBSJ and must have demonstrated academic achievement, community involvement and athletic leadership

19) Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada Scholarship - Deadline: March 28th, 2013
Value: Several @$1,000
Criteria: The applicant must be attending post-secondary in the fall and must be willing to write an essay of less than $500 words related to credit and debt. (Specific instructions given on website)

20) Retail as a Career Scholarship - Deadline: March 29th, 2013
Value: Multiple at $5,000
Criteria: The applicant must be entering a Business, Marketing, or Retail post-secondary program and must currently be working part time in retail.

Criteria: The applicant must be in foster care or be the biological child of foster parents.

23) Scouts of Canada Scholarship - Deadline: April 1st, 2013
Value: 17 at unspecified amount
Criteria: The applicant must have been a contributing member to Scouts Canada and have demonstrated leadership and community involvement in the scouting movement and outside.  The applicant must also have a good academic record.

24) Girl Guides of Canada Scholarship - Deadline: April 1st, 2013
Value: 25 at up to $2,000
Criteria; The applicant must be a registered member of Girl Guides of Canada attending a post-secondary program in the fall. The student should also have intentions to remain involved in the Guides program.

25) Dialogue NB New Brunswick Scholarship - Deadline: April 19th, 2013

Criteria: The applicant must be a grade 12 student who is going to post0secondary in the fall.
