Good evening! This is a message for all Raiders and their
families.
It has been a long, cold January so far, but things are
heating up at RVMS.
Our new ASAP schedule is posted on the website and attached
to this message.
1. This week we celebrate the 21st Annual Hoops Classic.
This event welcomes school basketball teams from around the District to
participate in friendly competition at RVMS. WE owe a huge thank you to Mr.
Shiels and his team of coaches, teachers, parents, student leaders and players
who work hard to make this annual event a success. Go Raiders!
Games are ongoing on Friday afternoon and evening and on Saturday
and we welcome spectators!
2. Our Phys-Ed program is proud to include an outdoor snowshoe
unit. This unit is currently running, and all students should come to school
prepared for outdoor gym classes with winter boots, coats, hats, mittens and,
if possible, snow pants.
3. We want to remind families that our school is not open to
receive students until 7:55 in the morning. Families should not send or drop
off any students before this time. This is especially important during cold
weather.
4. Some families will be receiving attendance letters this
week. These letters go out whenever a student has reached 10 or more days
absent (excused or unexcused). Research shows that poor attendance at school
can seriously affect a student. If you have any questions, please feel free to
contact Ms. McGrath at the school.

PD Day (No school for students)
