Simonds High School Graduation Celebration and Events

June is an exciting time for our Seabee graduates, and we know this year is more important than ever! We have put together an amazing plan to honor and celebrate your achievements. 

June 15th, 2020 – The Simonds High School Athletic Awards Video will be released at 7pm AST. The video features all the awards normally given during our school year and will include Junior and Varsity Athletes of the Year and our Academic/Athletic Leadership Award!

June 16th, 2020 – The Simonds High School Social Awards Video will be released at 7pm EST. The video features all the awards normally given during our school year and will include social letters, distinctions and awards of excellent. It will include the Grade 12 superlatives, Newbee of the Year and the Simonds High School Spirit Award!

June 17th, 2020 – GRADUATION DAY! There are a few instructions for our graduates that are very important to follow to make sure everyone is safe and social distancing! Grad fees are $25 and can be paid by “Cashless School”. Grads will be contacted about a reimbursement of the difference ($45). Please do not come to the school.  Rain Date: June 18th, 2020

•  Please select a time on June 17th for you to come to the celebration event. There is a limit of 14 groups (Graduate and 2 Guests) per time slot.  If you have NOT booked a time, please email jill.eckstone@nbed.nb.ca ​to book a time. There are still spots remaining for 10:00, 10:30 and 11am. Thank you for your patience and we apologize if you have tried and it did not work.

•  Please arrive at the school 20 minutes prior to your specified time and remain inside your vehicle at the Fire Hydrant at the corner of D building. At that time, graduates will be given a package which is yours to keep! Inside the package will be your gown, cap and tassel, as well as your diploma. Textbooks and materials will be collected from your vehicle at this time.

•  Vehicles will be informed when to proceed to the designated parking spot (outlined below). You will have 15 minutes to put on your gown and get ready (BRING YOUR DIPLOMA WITH YOU). Guests will proceed to the front of D building (near the gym doors). Social distancing must always be maintained when on campus (2-meter separation).

•  Graduates will be called to the platform in front of D building for a picture with the Principal. The Principal will step aside, and you can get a picture with you holding your diploma.

•  Upon completion of this process, the graduate and their guests must return to their cars and leave the campus to allow for others to arrive.

•  A Virtual Graduation Video will be released at 7:00pm 

Graduation Day Process:

All sessions will follow the same guidelines:

1.  Arrive on Campus 20 minutes prior to the time you selected when you booked.

2.  Wait in your vehicle and the grad package will be delivered to you.

3.  When instructed, proceed to the designated parking lot (A or B).

4.  Once in the parking lot, put on your gown, take your diploma and line up (2 meters apart).
