Good afternoon! Today is Friday, September 24 and this is Ms. McGrath with a message for all Gr. 7 & 8 Raiders and their families.

As you may know, all Gr. 7 students in New Brunswick are offered immunizations through Public Health. These are the HPV vaccine (Human Papillomavirus) and a booster for the DTap (Whooping Cough, Diphtheria and Tetanus) which your child would have received as part of their regular immunization schedule as a preschooler.

This year, all of our Gr. 7 students will be offered these immunizations. We will also be offering the second shots to our Gr. 8 students whose immunization schedule was affected by Covid last year.

Your Gr. 7 child will bring home paperwork for you to complete. Gr. 8 students already submitted this paperwork last year. Forms are due back at RVMS no later than next Wednesday, Sept 29.

Our clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 6.

Please note the caution from Public Health below:

If your child has had a COVID-19 vaccination, they must wait 30 days before receiving another vaccine. If they received their first COVID-19 vaccine and their second COVID-19 vaccine is coming due (28 days between), they should delay school vaccines to complete the COVID-19 vaccine series first. Appointments can be made with Public Health to receive school vaccines that have to be delayed to receive the COVID-19 vaccinations.
