This week is Staff
Appreciation Week. We want to take a moment to say thank you to
our Raider Staff; teachers, educational assistants, administrative assistants, custodians,
bus drivers, teacher mentors, grounds crew and facilities staff and district
support staff. All of these people contribute to our great school community and
we appreciate their support!!
Did you know that RV Staff contribute over 5000 volunteer
hours each year to run sports, activities and our ASAP schedule? That is dedication! Great job RAIDERS!!
SPORTS & PHYS-ED

Basketball season is winding down and Mr. Shiels and his team
are preparing for Volleyball Season which begins soon after March Break.
-
In gym class we are also hoping to get out on those snow
shoes…if you have gym, please come prepared to be outside with boots, snow pants,
a warm coat and hats and mittens.
-
Ski Club is heading into week #5 at Poley with 50 students
and our team of chaperones ready to hit all that fresh snow on the hill on
Thursday evening.
ACADEMICS

Gr. 8 students are attending Open House events this week as
they prepare to register for High School for September 2020. High School
Registration forms are due Friday,
Feb 14.

Some families may have received “At-Risk” letters in the last
few weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, or are looking for ways to
support your child at school, please make contact with their Homeroom Teacher

Many classes are working on Science Fair projects. Remember,
support them but don’t do the work for them!

Today is the last day to place Scholastic Book orders online
at scholastic.ca/canadaclubs

Today is the last day to order Gr. 8 Hoodies on Cashless
Schools.

Gr. 8 Quebec Trip payments are due on Cashless Schools by
Friday

School Video Dance is Tuesday, February 25 from 6-8 pm.

Indoor shoes required. Cost is $5
-
We will be practicing Lockdown Procedure next week. Please
review the Parent Info attached.
