Happy Thursday Raider Families!

Today is Thursday, November 26^th and this is Ms. McGrath with a few messages for all Raiders and their families.

1.       Parent/Teacher Meetings are filling up fast. We have noticed that some families are having trouble with the link I sent last week. You can also go to the school website (rvms.nbed.nb.ca) where you will find a link on the main page, highlighted in bright pink, for your convenience.  Ms. Nelson has also tweeted the link @RVMiddle and that works as well.

2.       Home Reports go home next Tuesday, December 1.

3.      Our Scholastic Virtual Book Fair is ongoing until December 4^th. Orders ship directly to your home address. All proceeds will go to support classroom libraries at RVMS. https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5152409

4.       School clothing and gear is also always available for purchase at our online shop and these items ship directly to your home address as well. There is also a tab on the school website in the navigation bar titled “Raider Clothing”   https://rivervalleymiddleschool.entripyshops.com/

5.       Our Raiders continue to do well in the new “Orange Phase” of our Covid Safety Plan. As I mentioned in my last message, reiterated in the latest ASD-S communication, students are encouraged to continue to attend school. Some families do not feel comfortable with their child at school during the Orange phase; however, we are open with enhanced safety measures and learning will continue face to face. 

At this time, teachers will not be providing home learning materials, or meeting with students on Teams if they are choosing to remain at home during the orange phase. 

The Home Learning site (click here) ​, developed this past spring during the provincial school closure, provides parents with activities and ideas to support learning at home.  ASD-S has made this available to help parents who have chosen to keep their children at home at this time. We encourage you to check with your child’s school as teachers may be posting homework and assignments on their Teams site if they are currently using it for this purpose.
