Saint John Free Public Library

The 10 public libraries in the Fundy Region between Sussex, Saint John, and St. Stephen are part of the New Brunswick Public Library Service.  They offer access to collections and programs specifically designed to meet the needs of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, as well as the needs of their parents and caregivers. Regular programs include:
  • Babies in the Library (0 to18 months)
  • Toddler Time (18 months to 3 years), and
  • Preschool Storytime (3 to 5 years)

These programs incorporate Every Child Ready to Read,®  a program developed by the American Library Association from research  showing that modelling the importance of early literacy to the adults in a child's life helps to nurture pre-reading skills. For other specialized programs, contact the public library in your community.

Visit your local library to sign up for a free library card and borrow materials from any public library in New Brunswick. There are no late fines on children's library cards.

If you are an Early Childhood Educator or teacher inquire about the Educator’s Card!
