Continuation Learning Plan FILA 6-7-8  April 6 to June

Bonjour!

I would like to see the students still continue some learning in French.

Writing: Students can write two to thee days a week in a journal (word format is possible).  They can write about what they do from day to day or working on the other strands provided bellow.  What they are doing for homework in other classes, what they do for phys. ed, what they do on the weekends with their families, etc.  They can date each entry and send it to me weekly at vicki.lafrance@nbed.nb.ca.  I will provide some feedback and send it back.

Viewing and Listening: Students can go to radiocanada.ca jeunesse and watch some videos of their choice in French.  They can find French videos on youtube.

Grade 6: La guerre des tuques in French on youtube

Grade 7: Bach et Bottine in French on youtube

Grade 8: Can watch one of both movies.

They can then report what they thought about it in a journal entry.

Reading: students can go to the website storybookcanada.ca and chose the French option.  They have leveled books.  Students can read in French and report back in the journal.  The name of the book, new vocabulary, what they understood, if they have questions, etc.

Speaking: It would be wonderful if the students could facetime with some classmates at least once a week and have some conversations in French.  If they have siblings in FI, even better!  Not speaking in French for the next 6 months will a challenge for when we return to the classroom.  I always tell them, it's very easy to lose a language.  As for myself, I have been speaking in French only for the past few weeks, and when I need to speak in English, I do struggle to find my words and keep it fluent.

Special grade 8 project: we wanted to work on a lipdub in June.  I challenge you grade 8 students to each make part of a video of cotton ouaté by Blue Jean Blue.  I know you communicate in a group chat.  Try to figure our which part you would like to do and send me clips to vicki.lafrance@nbed.nb.ca

I will put a video together and post it :)

I hope to hear from all of you and I am anxious to read some journal entries :

Mme Lafrance :)
