Terry Fox School Walk/Run Day

TerryFox.jpgThe Terry Fox School Walk/Run Day was a bit different this year since we had three of our teachers taking apart in the ASD-W Terry Fox Unification Relay to recognize the 35th anniversary of Terry's trek across Canada. this ambitious run linked one end of our District to the other and included a route which passed every school in ASD-W. The unexpected storm day hampered our efforts but it's the thought that counts so thanks to Ms. Cassista and Mr. Best for having good intentions to participate. We give a shout-out to Mrs. LeBlanc who was able to bike her leg of the relay on our behalf in spite of the unexpected storm. Thank you! When the students returned on October 1st after the storm day, they participated in the annual Terry Fox Walk. We were all able to join together as one school by walking around the perimieter of the parking lot. It was quite something to watch everyone enjoying a stroll in the memory of the inspirational Terry Fox. As the District requested, we tried to collect $1 from every student and staff member. We also did out traditional pledge sheets but, due to the lateness of the activity and the late returns of money donated, it is yet to be counted. Thanks to all members of the community who sponsored our school children for this event. Thanks, David Best, for your organization and leadership in this worthwhile endeavor.
