Pre-Kindergarten

 Thank you for registering your child for Kindergarten. We are excited to be working with you and your child. Below are important pre-kindergarten events planned for this year to help prepare your child for entrance to kindergarten in 2019-20. All events are held here at Glen Falls.

• Parents are asked to com into the school any time this week to register their child for school.  Please bring in their Birth Certificate and Immunization.

• Parents/guardians are invited to attend a session to receive information regarding the different events that take place for pre-school children throughout the school year. This session is not intended for the children.

• Parents and pre-kindergarten children attend a 90 minute session.
• You and your child will participate in formats used for Kindergarten (Circle time, centres, snack time, etc.)
• Welcome to Kindergarten bags with lots of educational goodies inside to re-enforce the activities during the event will be given to your child.

• Important evaluation that provides valuable information about your child.
• We will call you to book the appointment time.
• Assessments take approximately 45 minutes.
• You will receive a copy of the results through the mail.

• Sessions are 90 minutes; we will contact you and let you know the exact time.
• Children attend small groups in the kindergarten classroom with their teacher.
• Parent/guardians will attend parent sessions with the Principal and a guest.
• Parents and children will learn about bus safety and have a ride on the school bus, as well as have a tour of the school.
