Free Hands-Only CPR & AED Session at CHS Grades 9-12 & Free Community Session April 21st

Grades 9-12 will have a free one hour AED and Hands Only CPR session April 21st provided by the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  The 9-12s will be trainned in the morning and there will be a free community session from 1:00-2:00 pm.  Community members can call the school to give their name if they wish to attend.  The community session will run if there is sufficient interest.

CPR in Schools is an initiative we run at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick which provides Hands-Only CPR training and how to use an AED skills to high school students across the province. There has been an anonymous donor who has indicated they would like Canterbury High School students trained (grades 9-12), and additionally to provide the school with CPR Anytime Kits. Each kit comes with a mannequin, an instructional DVD, and an instruction manual. There is no certification involved and so anybody can facilitate their use. The kits will be left with the school after the event and are encouraged to be set up as a sign out system for students to bring home to teach their friends and family, and to be used year after year to refresh the students’ newly developed skills.
