LITERACY FOCUS

               Introducing sound team: OO  (two sounds…..good……moon)
·        Reading strategies (please remind your child to refer to the strategy chart and use variety of strategies when figuring out unknown words)

·         Number sequence 1-20, 20-50 (forwards, backwards, between two numbers)
·        Counting by 5’s, 10’s to 50-100
·        Naming numbers one/two more, one/two less to 20
·        Number recognition 1--50
·        Number formation 1-50
·        Counting by twos to 20
·        Representing/describing numbers 11-20
·        Part-part-whole-number combinations 1-20
·        Comparing sets to 20, using referents and one to one matching
·        Estimating quantities up to 10 then 20
·        Record equalities using an equal sign
 
 
 
PLEASE PRACTICE AND REVIEW IF NEEDED:
·        ****High Frequency Sight Words –Keep reviewing until mastered. If your child can read the words with ease, have them practice spelling/create sentences in their practice book.
·        Practice printing sentences using the new sight words. Make sure they include a capital for the beginning of the sentence, pronoun I and names as well as punctuation.
·        Play a memory matching game, write words on a tic-tac-toe board or  play “go fish” with word cards.
·        Reading/spelling words with OO

·        Count by twos to 20
·        Use counters show different combinations for a numbers up to 10  ( 8 can be 4,4   5,3,  7,1  6,2)

If your child is not having the turkey dinner, they will have their lunch in the classroom.

16th Christmas concert –9:00 and 11:00 (Tuesday, Dec.20-storm date)
23rd Half day of school
