Students are working very hard in the classroom!  Last Friday was International Kindness Day.  We incorporated this into our Health and Literacy activities.  We will continue to say nice things to each other and be kind to one another.  It makes us all feel better!

Literacy- The children really enjoyed making their monster cereal.  We looked at a variety of different recipes to help grasp procedural writing.  Monsters now have a 'tasty' selection of cereail to choose from!

I've been assessing students in reading.  Comprehension and understanding what they are reading is our focus.  Please continue to check in with your child when they are reading.  It's important that they can retell the story in sequence and answer inferential questions (when something may not be stated clearly in the text but students can make assumptions based on what they read).

Math- Addition and subtraction with regrouping.  Most students are doing well with addition but we require more practice with subtraction.  When practicing at home, have your child explain their thinking process to you.  Please continue to practice additon and subtraction using 4 digit numbers.

Social Studies- Students have chosen a province or territory.  They are collecting information to create a brochure for their province/territory.  We are working on this with students in Ms. Crammond's class.
