NHS Staff Member of the Month January 2018
Nackawic Senior High School Staff Member of the Month – January, 2018
Kathy Campbell
In your 5 months in the building, you have had a significant impact on the culture and climate at NHS. You have embarked on some huge initiatives this semester, even though you are new to the school, including starting clubs like crocheting and coding. You also picked up prom committee while Stephanie was on maternity leave. These activities are time consuming, yet you still manage to prepare unique lessons for your courses. Your periodic table and plant growing are just a couple of examples of interesting ways to engage students. In October, you worked with a group of students to create a “kindness” bulletin board in the upstairs lobby. This bulletin board had kids talking and sharing positive messages with others. In December, you had a new vision. With Tracy, you applied for a Wellness grant to transform the upstairs lobby into a student lounge. If awarded, the upstairs lobby will become a warm, engaging area for students. January’s vision was the display cabinet in the entrance. Within a week, the cabinet was cleaned out, painted and restocked, celebrating the gym dedication, the Nighthawk AAA Hockey Banner, December’s students, athletes, and staff member of the month, and art work.  Thanks to your creative vision and willingness to take on new tasks, Nackawic High is making exciting new changes.  Congratulations on a job well done! We really appreciate it!
