1. Welcome
Jodie welcomed the group.
2. Adopt the agenda
Agenda adopted with a few additions – Buddy Bench, Kindness Day, Roots of empathy / Dealing with bullying (WITS)
3. Minutes from Nov 15th – already approved through email
4. Christmas Bazaar
· Profit of $18,160.74
· >$3,000 increase from last year
· Feedback – people liked the map and list of things in silent auction so could come prepared; too much time between end of silent auction and announcing of winners (suggestion to quickly go around and red circle the highest bid and people can square up right on the spot; more volunteers may be needed at the end to receive money)
· Suggestion of having no designated people to coordinate the Bazaar and that the members of the H&S committee will each take the lead on certain parts. The silent auction is the area that will take the most amount of work
· Suggestion that instead of cheap dollar store toys for the fish pond, we could use snacks (ie gold fish, fruit snacks, ring pops)
· Suggestions made to change up a few of the themes for the theme baskets
· Poinsettias did better this year because of the wreath option
5. Treasurer’s report – Krista Bowen
· Balance $20,479
· $2,000 office expense coming up
· $6,000 regularly occurring expenses coming up
· Bikes – approved to purchase as many bikes as required to have one in each classroom (4-7 more). No invoices yet. (<$4,000). May not have bikes in all the K classrooms because of not being able to adjust that small and hazards of getting on/off.
· Trays for the bikes ~$20 each – approved
· Planning to purchase 7 i-pads for K-2 ~$4,500
6. VP report – Samantha Robichaud
· Welcome to Kindergarten date May 24th
· Milk program starting up again
· Phys Ed – yoga
· K-2 going to Playhouse Feb 27 to see ‘Moon Mouse’
· Spelling bee at end of month
· Chinese New Year lunch
· Partnership with Pine Grove
7. Funding requests
· Playhouse – asking H&S for $327.50
· I-pad minis – want 14 for K-2 (total $4,546 including covers). Suggestion made to order 2x10 packs of i-pad minis so there’s some for the older classrooms as well ($6,060 for 20 i-pad minis)
· Office budget $2,000
· Healthy snack for February $200
· Teacher appreciation lunch ~$400
· Sponsor a child through World Vision $500/year – suggestion made that we will raise the money for this through a movie night.
· Consider soccer nets and new basketball nets for the playground?
· $9,287.50 approved. 1st Krista Bowen, 2nd Rebekah Thompson
8. Recycling
· Need volunteers – need to shovel out as well as collect and deliver recyclables. Drop box and juice boxes

9. Next Movie Night
· Friday Feb 17th – Finding Dory
· World Vision fundraiser night
· Will need up to $300 for movie float and expenses
10. New Fluoride program
· Once per week gr 1-5
· 2 volunteers needed per week
11. Hot Lunch
· Feb 2nd – Chinese New Year hot lunch. Jodi and Jodie to help with hot lunch that day
· Next hot lunch session to start Feb 9th for 4 weeks (Great Canadian Bagel)
· March will be Papa Johns again
· Papa Johns fundraiser – online orders only, 20% goes back to the school. If you spend $25 or more, you get 25 Papa points which equals a large pizza. One day event – Tuesday.
12. Dance or sock hop for this spring?
· Samantha to get approval for H&S to run this
13. Kindergarten parents and Thursday lunches
· Jodi to email the kindergarten teachers to see if they would like to do this
