Memo to Garden Creek Parents  & Guardians

Good afternoon, Creek Families! It is Friday the 13th!! Be careful out there if you are superstitious!!
 
We have our first week just about in for the new year! Our teachers have already started using their new learning from Monday's meetings - co-creating criteria with students around how they will demonstrate their learning as well as giving feedback to students around strengths in their learning and next steps. We are excited to see how this supports student achievement. :)  
 
French Immersion - if you are still considering  grade 1, 3 or 6 Entry French Immersion for your child  and have not yet completed forms, please contact Janice Webber at District Office at 444-4035 or janice.webber@gnb. Also,
 effective Monday, January 9th,  French Second Language contact information and registration process will be updated on the ASD-W website (www.asd-w.nbed.nb.ca), under the “Parent” section.
 
Wellness Survey - further to the provincial wellness survey that was sent out this week, ( hard copy)  please complete this and send it back to us by Monday if you could. Data always helps us in our planning!  Thank you.
 
UNB Cyber Launch Academy - check out our website under community connections to learn more about classes offered to students ages 8 - 16 on animation, coding, website design and computing.  http://cyberlaunchadacemy.ca
 
STEAM 2017 - Please begin to consider if you would like your child to take part in STEAM 2017 this year - the theme is Renewable Energy but students can of course work on anything that interests them. Parents are asked to register their children on line starting January 30th. Please see the attachment for more details.
 
Bottle Recycling Box - Don't forget!!! Drop off your redeemable bottles in our box outside  the school to support our students! Tell your families and neighbours!
 
Christmas Cards - a reminder to send in any old Christmas cards you have so that one of our EAs can use them to make Christmas tags.
 
Our school bus drivers would like to thank all the families for the Christmas cards and gifts and wish you all a Happy New Year!

Monday Jan 23rd - UNB student nurses start at our school ( Mondays and 
                                         Tuesdays)
 
Tuesday Jan 24th - PSSC meeting 6:30 pm
 
Thursday Jan 26th - Grade 1 M and 5 Leblanc to Pine Grove ( 10:30 am)
