Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians
We
hope you a beautiful long weekend ( rain or shine) with your families. That is
the fun part.. the not so fun part is continuing to follow covid protocols as
we work our way through to the finish line.. With this, we have reminded
teachers that the District and Public Health has advised for classes not to
use fans in the rooms at this time. Please consider dressing your child in
cool layers and on our end, we will keep the windows open, make use of the gym
when available and outdoor learning spots as needed. Thank you for
continuing to keep our Creeker Community safe and free from outbreaks.

Appreciation Day at the Creek – Thursday June 10! We have
another celcvbebration coming up across New Brunswick… Student Appreciation
Day! Students across the province have been
challenged in a year like no other due to the pandemic. They have risen
to the challenge and continued learning, growing, and doing great things. On
Wednesday, June 9 and Thursday, June 10,
2021, all schools in the four Anglophone School Districts across New Brunswick
will be participating in the first-ever, province-wide Student
Appreciation Days. More to come on what Garden Creek has
planned!

Garden Creek Parent Survey Results - Parent
Survey 2021 Update – As a result of the parent
survey conducted this spring, we received 207 responses. Parents,
overall, are very satisfied with the Connection of their child to the
school ( 97%), Curriculum (93%) and Communication ( 93%) Among other
comments, parents have made suggestions that they would like advice in helping
their children in FI, monthly updates in specialty areas, continued enrichment
and stretch learning opportunities, continue to be to be updated
frequently in their children’s progress through viewing assessments
and work on a regular basis or a progress report. A choice of either
virtual or in- person conferences was also brought up by multiple parents.
Discussions have already gotten underway both through our PSSC and
Core Leadership team of teachers and we will then bring this to our staff for
considerations for this coming school year. Thank you to all who participated!
