Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians
This
week has again been different as we moved into Red – but again, our staff and
students rose to the challenge and smiled through it! A couple of
more restrictions, among others, are that staff are now actively screened upon
entry by myself or Mme. Robichaud and both students and staff must wear their
masks except when eating or sitting quietly. Thank you for your patience,
understanding and support – the votes of confidence and encouraging emails have
been welcome and appreciated!
Social-Emotional
Learning for the Next Two Weeks - Four Finger Affirmation – Over
the next two weeks, students will be learning about Affirmations. This is to
help students think positively in the face of stress or challenges
by using affirmations to promote confidence , a growth mindset, self
-regulation and resiliency . Examples of four affirmations: I can do this,
I’ll try my best, I believe in me, today will be awesome” .
Treats
for the Class or the Staff – As much as we appreciate the kind gestures
from our families to supply treats either for a class or the staff during this
phase, we are not permitted to do so during RED until we are directed
otherwise. I will give you an update as me move closer to staff
appreciation week and Valentine’s Day fun!

French
Immersion Registration 2021-2022 – If you plan on registering your
child for grade 1 or grade 6 late French Immersion ( not for those
currently in grade 5 Immersion ), the website will open on Wed Jan. 27 at
www.asd-w.nbed.nb.ca Parents
in grades K and 5 English will receive a message about this on the 26th.
There will also be a Q &A on Feb 3 and 4th.
Registration will be open the rest of the year but, for planning
purposes, please try to do so by March 8th.

– All Science East Field Trips are cancelled for this coming week. They will
rebook with us as soon as we are able to go on field trips again.
