​Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians

Good afternoon, Creeker Parents and Guardians:

We are a week and a bit away from our first days back to school and can’t wait to support your children in person again! A couple of notes for you as we move forward:

Changes in Status for School Placement – if you are changing schools or considering another change for your child such as homeschooling or Distance Learning  ( with medical note provided) , please let us know as soon as possible. The sooner we know, the better we can adjust for your child's needs and classroom configurations.  Please refer to past emails from the District that were sent to you in regard to home schooling and members of the vulnerable population. 

Welcome Letters and Staggered Entry - as I previously mentioned, students will be staggered alphabetically for our first two days of school ( excluding Ks who are on a different staggered schedule). Please expect a welcome email  this coming  Tuesday ( probably!) from your child's teacher with information regarding the day of their entry as well as a FORMS survey to complete for us with any bussing , drop off /pick up info you may have. 

Operational Plan - Our Operational Plan was sent to the District and will be available to our parents on September 3rd along with all other schools. We will be taking time with our staff this coming Monday to review it with them and adjust as needed. We know that this plan will be a "living document" as we move ahead with changes in our provincial status as well as new regulations that may arise. 

Hot Lunch and Milk on Hold - For your planning purposes, we are holding off on "hot lunch" days as well as milk orders until at least Christmas. This could change as we move ahead and I am sorry for the inconveniences it may bring.  We feel the risks at this point in the procedures needed to deliver this program are too great at the moment. Thank you for your understanding. 

Students Transferring on Busses at KCS -  If your child will be transferring at Kingsclear Consolidated School by bus to get home, that school has advised us that your child will need to wear a mask while waiting for the transfer bus. Please plan accordingly with your child

School Fee Payment - This can be done through school cash online. This will go live on Wednesday September 2nd. Please see the link :
