Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians

Creeker Families, 

Here are some notes for you: 

Heritage Fair  This past Tuesday, our grade 5s outdid themselves in their presentations for our Heritage Fair. One judge mentioned that these were of Middle School caliber!  Way to go to all our students who participated. The top students  who received medals were:

Music Festival  We are looking forward to some of our classes participating in the Music Festival this week. They have been practicing and are terrific!  Please see below for scheduled performance times. Thus takes place at the Playhouse and there is a $2 entrance fee for the audience.  We are looking forward to all our groups and some individual students perform in the coming week.

Interest Groups   Interest groups have been set up by our committee ( a long process!) Teachers will receive the lists this week as well as locations. We are excited to begin these next Wednesday. 

Internet Safety Presentation  a reminder of the internet safety presentation to take place this  Tuesday April 29th at 7:00 pm in our library . Please see the attachment! 

Plastic Bag Grab 2019  Challenge   a reminder that ,  if  anyone has plastic bags at home that they would like to donate to be recycled, please send them in to your child’s  homeroom teacher.  We can all work to protect our earth!

Students Moving  If you have any plans of moving or transferring your child to another school, please let us know so that we can start to confirm numbers and make plans for the 2019 school year.

NO SCHOOL this Friday, May 3     Teachers will be taking part in professional learning through the NB Teachers Association and Support Staff will also be taking part in professional learning on that day. There will be no school for students

Garden Creek Craft Fair .. this Saturday from 10  2 pm!   Don’t forget to stop by our first annual Garden Creek Springfest Craft Fair on Saturday, May 4th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We’ll be showcasing over 25 local vendors, crafters and artisans offering a variety of goods such as wood crafts, home décor, handcrafted clothing and accessories, hand-crocheted and knit items, home-baked goodies, jewellery, bath and body products, and much more! It’s a great chance to shop local for Mother’s Day! Admission is FREE, but donations will be accepted at the door to help Creekers in Need. You can also purchase tickets to win an amazing gift basket containing godies from all the vendors at the fair! See you there!

NBCC Volunteering in and Around the Creek    This Wednesday,  four NBCC volunteers will be sprucing up our kitchen as well as painting some playground equipment throughout the day.  We are appreciative of their time and effort.   Thank you, NBCC!
