​Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians​​

Good afternoon, Creeker families

We are resettling into routines as staff consider more closely the needs of their students and next steps. Here are some items to keep you in the know:

New Staff Members: As Ms. Meaghan Britten has taken full time work at Bliss Carmen School, we would like to welcome Julie MacFawn in Physical Education classes working alongside Mme. Plourde on Tuesdays and Fridays. We would also like to welcome Kristen MacLean to Grade 3 English to Immersion in M.Briden’s class. Ms. MacLean is a teacher with great experience in many areas and is currently working with our ESL students throughout the week.  Welcome!

French Immersion Registration – Registration info  for the grade 1 and grade 6 entry point is going home with K and grade 5 students. Please let us know if you have any questions around this.

Fluoride Mouthrinse Volunteers – Thank you so much for your generous response to this ask. We now have plenty of support for this. Thank you!

Hot Lunch – Tuesday pizza is being extended to January 29^th due to the storm day.

Upcoming Clubs – There are a few things coming up or presently  happening for student involvement  throughout the week: Coding Club, Chess Club, Choir, Drama, and Art club as well as NBA 2Ball. Mme. Martin will also be starting a French Immersion Choir in the next while. More to come.. in the meantime, please consult the attached January schedule as a reminder.

After School Lego Robotics– One of our families is running a Lego Robotics program for students. They will be offering this at our school for 10 weeks  beginning in February on Mondays for grades 1-2 from 2 pm – 3:00 pm and  grades 3-5 from 3pm – 4:00 pm in our library. More to come on this in the next week.

Wow Work! When you are in the school, check out the Wow Work bulletin board as well as the display case, all produced by our grade 5 FI classes. WOW!

Home and School – there is a Home and School meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Thank you
