School Memo # 34-Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018

Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians

Good afternoon Creeker Families!

Just a reminder that if your children are finished school at 2pm, school continues for the older children until 3pm. Therefore, our school playground is not available for play until after the older children have all been dismissed. The time between 2:00 and 3:00  is a time where classes may be using the playground for Phys. ed. or other learning activities, and this increases in frequency when the weather gets nice in the Spring. It would be much appreciated if you would wait until after the school day ends at 3:00 (12 on Wednesdays) to use the playground with your children. Thank you.

Please find attached a letter about our school looking for volunteers. We are hoping to find people to help out with various things to improve our school. If you think there may be something you can do to help out, please have a look at the letter and return it to us (or just send us an email). We are looking to create a bank of volunteers who may be able to help us with a variety of things from writing grant proposals to digging beds and everything in between.  It also doesn’t have to be a parent who chooses to volunteer to help, it can be anyone who has the expertise and is willing to assist our school community. Thank you for considering whether you could volunteer your time.

We are looking for interested people to serve on a “library improvement committee.”  If you are interested, please forward your name to the office.

Attached are two letters for our Track and Field event this Thursday, May 24th (Rain date: May 25th).  One is seeking volunteers specifically for the event and the other is a reminder on what students should bring. Please confirm your willingness to volunteer until tomorrow, Wednesday, May 23rd  at noon so we can inform you of your area of assignment.

We are having a fundraiser event! On Saturday June 2, we are having a test drive fundraiser here at the school. At no cost or obligation to you, if you come by between 10 and 12noon and take one of the cars for a drive, our school will receive a $20 donation from the company! All you need is a valid driver's licence! We will be continuing to remind people about this over the next few weeks, it will be a great and easy way to raise funds for the school with no cost to parents!
