School Memo # 29-Monday, April 16th, 2018

Memo to Garden Creek Parents and Guardians

Good afternoon Creeker Families!

At this time of year, I want to remind everyone that you need to check each morning regardless of the current weather, to make sure there are no school delays or closures, bus delays or cancellations. This can be done via the school or district website, http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/asd-w/Pages/default.aspx, twitter, listening to a local radio station, or phoning the hotline at 453-5454 or 1-888-388-4455. In addition, this is the time of year when the weather changes significantly from day to day. One day it may be below -20 but later in the day it is predicted to be +10.  So please keep an eye on the weather forecast for the day when you are preparing the children to come to school, and bring appropriate hats, mitts, etc.

Reminder to all: if you wish to pay online for an order for school clothing, please make sure you have paid online for the order before you send back the slip for the order. If you don't do this it will be difficult to reconcile payments on our part and could mean that we will have to contact you to straighten it out. The clothing orders are due on Friday April 20.

Also we are sending our pizza orders home today and for the first time you will have the option to pay for your pizza order online through the same cashless schools program that we are using for the school clothing. IF you choose to use the cashless payment option you will still need to send in the order form as per usual and check the "online" method of payment. Please ensure the online payment has been made before you return the slip. Please see attached cashless schools letter for more information about this method of payment. (This is the letter we sent home with the school clothing orders) Pizza orders will be due Friday April 20.

Mr. Slack’s Grade 5 class is still raising money for their class trip to Snider Mountain.  Southside redemption centre located at 70 Timothy Ave, Hanwell, has agreed to assist the class by accepting donations of refundable bottles. If you are at the redemption centre and would like to do so, you could ask that your refundables be donated to the grade 5 class at Garden Creek School.
