Memo to Garden Creek Parents and Guardians
Monday, April 24th, 2017

Good afternoon, Creekers!

A couple of messages for you:

Professional Learning - last Wednesday afternoon, our teachers took part in learning about goal  and criteria setting with students. We were fortunate to have a lead researcher from Ontario present to us around this topic. We are continuing to work on this in our classrooms as well as in future professional learning.
                                   - this Friday, there is no school as staff continue to learn and collaborate through a Department set meeting day around the 10 year plan and other best practices.

Music Festival - Congrats to our Girls' Choir who placed 2nd at FHS today.  They sang beautifully! Thank you to Mrs. McGregor for all her work with our students. Congrats as well to Gr. 1 McKillop who performed a choral reading at the festival - they were wonderful!!  Grade 5 Leblanc as well as Grade 3 FI will be performing on Wednesday.

Yoga in the School - As part of mindfulness and wellness, We are fortunate to have Rachel Barrett, an amazing yoga instructor, come to our school to give yoga instruction to our students for the next two Tuesdays in Phys Ed. She will also be giving some recess classes as well as a class to our staff. Thank you to Hanade Hariri for sponsoring this.
