Next week is National Children’s Book Week. Author Manon Gauthier is touring New Brunswick. She is an author/illustrator from Montreal and four of our French Immersion classes will participate in a workshop with her. http://bookweek.ca/application/illustrator-profile-manon-gauthier/

Thank you to those who sent in donations for the SPCA. A great way to wrap up Kindness and Pay it Forward Month.

Next week the Greenhouse team will have a plant sale (Thurs. & Fri.) to purge all the plants they have been growing all winter long.

Our Jump Rope for Heart kick off assembly took place this week, Please return the envelope if your child is not participating in the fundraising opportunity. All envelopes are due back by May 13th.

What’s happening in the Community?

The HHS SRC has been organizing an event to raise awareness for MADD. As part of this event, the Hampton River Runners are helping us put on a FUN run this Saturday beginning at 10:00 am. (Registration begins at 9:00am.) I believe that one of our SRC members, Johnathan DesRoches, dropped off some flyers to HMS and HES on Tuesday.

There has been a slight change to the program. Rather than a 4 km run through the water-logged trails, we are moving it to an alternate run route. It is now only 3 km. We will be using the same route that the Hampton River Runners use for their 3 km run in September.

I am not sure if you have already passed out flyers to your students, but we would really appreciate it if you could pass on the message. It is $5 to participate and all proceeds go to MADD. Following the run, there is a police car pushing challenge for high school students from around the district and there will be a barbecue. We would love to have spectators and participants.
