Mme Dingee sends a Cougar Pride Shout Out to 6 Dow! In her words, “They are a lovely, quiet, polite, and hard-working group. I can take them outside to work and they will quietly go off and do what they are asked to do with few reminders to stay on track. They come into my classroom and sit without making a peep, while they wait for class to begin. Many say "thank you" at the end of class on the way out the door. They are a delight to teach.” Way to go Dow’s Rowdy Cows!

Sports:

Good luck to the Varsity Girls soccer team as they host RPS today at 4:00pm - all are welcome to come out and cheer on the team.

Physical Contact:

The school policy of 'hands and feet to self' (no physical contact) exists in order to ensure the health and safety of all persons. Games; playing; friendship; and 'joking around' are not excuses for this behaviour. We have been very clear from the first day of school that if you choose to make physical contact with others that there will be consequences. These range from loss of outside privilege to suspension from school. Inappropriate physical contact includes all activities that have a person placing their hands, feet, or other body part(s) on another person. This includes, but is not limited to: tag; wrestling; cow-tipping; grabbing hats; body checking; picking others up; pulling/pushing others; tripping; pantsing; bag-tagging; scooping; tazing; poking; etc. Again, this policy exists in order to ensure safety. Although the intent may not be to harm others, this is, more often than not, the end result. Please keep your hands and feet to yourselves, so that everyone may enjoy their time while on school property.

Jersey Day collections are to be sent to Mrs. Hardy following announcements.  (Make note of your class name on the container in which you send your collection).

Our Locker Full of Prizes contest tickets are still on sale.  Your ticket gives you a chance to have your name drawn to then draw a combination from a jar. IF you draw the right combination and it opens the locker, you win everything inside.  We have drawn 3 tickets today, please come to the office during the break between periods 2 and 3 to draw your combinations. Teachers, please excuse them for the first few minutes of period 3 while they try to open the locker. We will announce right before lunch if the locker was opened or not and if tickets will again be on sale at lunch.

Burkett’s Battle Drones will be delivering popcorn during first half of lunch to the Grade 8’s today.

Dow's Rowdy Cows will be selling "Smart Sweets" on Monday and Tuesday in support of Shining Horizons.  Students will be coming around to classes on Monday during period 2.  You can order for Tuesday at that time. Cost will be $2.50 per bag.

Grade 7 is on the Basketball Court this week, grades 6 & 8 are on the field.

Any students who have proof of their vaccination (COVID) can show their document to Principal Nelson who is tracking this.
