DUTIES:      

Work involves driving a school bus for Anglophone South School District on an assigned route.  Duties include the operation of the assigned school bus according to Province of New Brunswick applicable legislation and regulations; conducting cleanup, checking and inspection of the assigned school bus as required; adhering to schedule of run as established by the District; maintenance of discipline and orderly conduct on the school bus according to District policy; and generally ensuring the provision of school bus driving services and of any other services which the District may from time to time assign, all in accordance with the terms of the Collective Agreement. N.B. Other related responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED. Possession of a valid New Brunswick Driver’s License endorsed for School Bus Operation and Air Brakes.  Successful completion of the School Bus Driver Training and Orientation Program as provided by the Department of Education.  Possession of a recognized current Standard First Aid Certificate.  Ability to read and write and physically capable of performing assigned tasks.

Assistant Facilities Manager

As part of the facilities team, the Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible to assist the Facilities Manager in planning and maintaining plant operations and maintenance of schools and other district properties.  

 

DUTIES: Under the direction of the Facilities Manager and Director of Finance and Administration:

The successful applicant will: 

·         Be responsible for daily operations related to the administration of the overall physical plant and management of the computerized Maintenance Management System (MPC), including the assignment and prioritization of repair projects within the Education.

·         Participate in Health and Safety and Labour/Management meetings as requested by the Manager.

·         Conduct technical evaluation of physical plant problems and assign appropriate maintenance personnel.

·         Respond to inquiries and concerns related to facilities.

·         Assist in the preparation of tenders.

·         Other duties may be assigned.

 

Qualifications:

·         Graduation from community college in the field of architectural or engineering technology.

·         Experience related to the management of a physical plant, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

·         Demonstrated computer literacy with strong skills in all MS Office products.

·         Exceptional written, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Written and spoken competency in English is required.

·         A combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Essential attributes include:

·         The incumbent must have excellent interpretation, analytical, and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, accurately, and in a confidential manner and have excellent communication skills.

 

Salary: This is a unionized PSAC position, and falls under School Business Official 4 payband ($58,316 to $80,340 annual).

DUTIES:  This work is primarily assisting teachers in the performance of their duties as well as attending to the physical needs of exceptional students.  Work is under the supervision of a teacher and involves assisting individuals and groups of students.  Duties include providing assistance in classrooms, libraries, shops, laboratories and any other learning environment; assisting with the supervision of students; assisting with the preparation of teaching aids and the assembly of materials as directed by the teacher; tutoring students; assisting with maintaining records, and generally assisting teachers with functions designed to fulfill the instructional, social and/or behavioral goals and objectives as planned by the teacher.  Duties may also include assisting students with transportation to and from school and moving around within the school; assistance with feeding, hygiene, clothing and toileting; care of catheterized students.

N.B.  Other related responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary to the operation of the school.

 

 

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  Graduation from high school supplemented by completion of an approved training course related to the field of work, and experience or demonstrated ability in dealing with children; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.  Specific training, deemed essential by the Employer to meet the special needs of the student(s), may also be required.

Education Support Teacher - Resource for Interdepartmental Care Plans (Complex Case) - 0.5 FTE

 

 

Description and Responsibilities

This position provides support for student(s) with complex needs, which will include assessment, data analysis, development of Individualized Behaviour Plans [IBSPs], academic and social skills programming, identifying appropriate resources, and presenting related in-service training.

Implementation of support programs with children with complex behavioural needs will include providing support to optimize student transitions, maintaining written documentation and data, choosing interventions with documented empirical effectiveness for children with behavioural needs as a basis of educational services, and guiding staff in the use of efficient, accurate and non-intrusive data collection to enable decision making.

This teacher will promote the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis [ABA], evidenced based interventions, and will develop, implement, and support the programming for students with complex needs.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum New Brunswick Teacher’s Certificate 5
  • Master of Education in Exceptional Learners or an equivalent graduate degree will be considered an asset.
  • Successful experience as a resource teacher or in a similar role will be considered an asset.
  • ASD and Behavioural Interventions II and other training and ABA will be considered an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated ongoing professional learning in complex behaviour and related topics, who have a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and have demonstrated leadership, respect of professional confidentiality (RTIPPA and PHIPA), and sound professional judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Preference will be given to B Contract teachers with Anglophone South School District.

Description:  This is professional work in the field of speech language pathology.  Employees of this class perform clinical work, according to professional standards and district policies and procedures, involving the screening, identification, assessment, interpretation, diagnosis, rehabilitation and prevention of communication disorders.  Work performed is oriented to client or community needs and may require active participation on interdisciplinary teams, consultation on client waitlists, determination of service delivery options, ongoing assessment and discharge readiness determination.  Work may be performed in a school district and/or community-based settings.  Work includes participation in planning and implementation of program activities, and may include quality improvement, performance management and statistical activities, student/parent education and research and may include caseload management and care coordination.  Work may include relieving the superior in his/her absence and supervising support personnel.  Work is performed independently and is reviewed by a superior.  Employees of the Speech Language Pathologist classification may be required to provide clinical supervision of delegated function (tasks/activities) to rehabilitation therapy assistants, guidance, training and orientation to other speech language pathology staff, students and other professionals.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from a recognized university.  Registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

Salary: In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees-Professional Support Group Collective Agreement: Bi-Weekly $2,837.01 - $3,572.49 ($73,762.26 - $92,884.74 annually.)

Education Support Teacher – Assistive Technology Lead

 

Description:  

The ESS Assistive Technology Lead will be a district-based position reporting to Education Support Services Coordinators and the Director of Education Support Services. This position will build capacity with school-based staff in the implementation and effective use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support students with diverse needs. This lead teacher will be responsible for the ATAE applications submitted throughout ASD-S.  This role includes but is not limited to building capacity in resource teachers, classroom teachers, providing professional learning, and ensuring that the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment are supporting the implementation of Policy 322.  

 

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Coaching and mentoring resource teachers/classroom teachers to effectively use existing ATAE.  
  • Coach and mentor resource teachers/classroom teachers to develop learning plans for students new to assistive technology to remove barriers in accessing learning.  
  • Creating and maintenance of an inventory system for school based assistive technology and adaptive equipment.  
  • Providing professional learning and coaching as required, including to Education Assistants.  
  • Ensuring effective, efficient, and equitable distribution and use of ATAE.  
  • Supporting Education Support Services department with other duties, including Provincial Assessment Program Accommodations & Exemptions 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Education Support Services Coordinator, Director of Education Support Services, or Superintendent.  

 

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Minimum New Brunswick Teacher’s Certificate 5.  
  • Master’s degree in exceptional learners or related equivalent graduate level education. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies in best practices for Assistive Technology. 
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based educational practices.  
  • Familiarity with ESS Connect  
  • Strong coaching and collaboration skills.  
  • Strong commitment to inclusionary practices.  
  • Successful experience developing and leading professional development will be considered an asset.  

Preference will be given to teachers with a B Contract in ASD-S.

Under the direction of the Director of Schools and Data & Accountability, the successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing data and accountability work in the Anglophone South School District. The Supervisor of Data and Special Initiatives role will include work in the following areas:


Job Roles and Responsibilities:


• Develop data processes and systems to support the efficient collection and analysis of data.

• Analyze and interpret data for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of educational initiatives and programs.

• Provide leadership, management, and oversight of district data systems, platforms, and programs.

• Provide support and respond to internal and external data requests.

• Collaborate with EECD and other government departments in the development and administration of provincial assessments and data programs.

• Leverage and develop processes and tools to monitor and report on district strategic initiatives, performance, and results.


Qualifications and Experience:


• A valid New Brunswick Teacher’s Certificate VI and Master Degree.

• A minimum of five years successful teaching experience in the public school system.

• Effective communication skills.

• Extensive knowledge in the use of MS excel for data collection and analysis is required.

• Knowledge, experience, and training in data analysis management are considered assets.

• Experience with software programs used in ASD-S such as School Messenger, Safe Arrival, CLEVR, SharePoint, MS Office 365 (TEAMs, Forms, Bookings, PowerPoint, etc) are considered assets

• Administrative/supervisory experience is an asset.

Description and Responsibilities:

 

Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing English as an Additional Language in the Anglophone South School District. Subject Coordinators provide leadership in curriculum and instruction, supervise instructional coaches, assist principals in reviewing student data and developing school plans, and coordinate assessment, instructional programs, resources, and pilots. They identify and facilitate professional learning for teachers and staff, assist with the delivery of programs that enhance student performance, and are a resource for Professional Learning Communities.  The EAL Coordinator serves as an advocate for newcomers and Multi Language Learners (MLLs) and will work in collaboration with the Newcomer and International Student Welcome Centre Coordinator.   

 

As a collaborative team in curriculum and instruction, coordinators contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the District Improvement Plan. They also support the Directors of Schools in the Education Centres with operational responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

·        A valid New Brunswick Teacher’s Certificate VI and Master Degree is a requirement.

·        Demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies to perform the required tasks in the specified curriculum area.

·        Experience leading professional learning pertinent to English as an additional language is an asset.

·        Effective communication skills.

·        Successful completion of the EECD Culturally & Linguistically Inclusive Schools (CLIS) course or the English Language Teaching - Professional Learning Series modules is a requirement.

·        TESL Certification or SIOP Training is an asset.

·        Administrative/supervisory experience is an asset.

0.8 FTE Speech Language Pathologist I- Temporary Position

Hampton Education Centre

Effective: Immediately

 

 

Description:  This is professional work in the field of speech language pathology.  Employees of this class perform clinical work, according to professional standards and district policies and procedures, involving the screening, identification, assessment, interpretation, diagnosis, rehabilitation and prevention of communication disorders.  Work performed is oriented to client or community needs and may require active participation on interdisciplinary teams, consultation on client waitlists, determination of service delivery options, ongoing assessment and discharge readiness determination.  Work may be performed in a school district and/or community-based settings.  Work includes participation in planning and implementation of program activities, and may include quality improvement, performance management and statistical activities, student/parent education and research and may include caseload management and care coordination.  Work may include relieving the superior in his/her absence and supervising support personnel.  Work is performed independently and is reviewed by a superior.  Employees of the Speech Language Pathologist classification may be required to provide clinical supervision of delegated function (tasks/activities) to rehabilitation therapy assistants, guidance, training and orientation to other speech language pathology staff, students and other professionals.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from a recognized university.  Registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

Salary: In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees-Professional Support Group Collective Agreement: Bi-Weekly $2,837.01 - $3,572.49 ($73,762.26 - $92,884.74 annually.)
