DEFINITION: This is skilled work at the journeyperson level in one or more building trades. Work involves the maintenance and repair of buildings, machinery and equipment. The employee must possess a journeyperson certificate in one or more trades and is required to work at the journeyperson level. Work is not limited to the trade in which the employee possesses a journeyperson certificate. The employee may maintain records of stock of building materials and supplies and requisition materials and supplies for repair and maintenance projects. Work assignments are received verbally or by written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams. Performance is reviewed by a designated superior through discussions, observations, inspections, reports and overall results​ achieved for conformance with established standards. Description:
This is entry level professional social work involving the provision of services/interventions to individuals, families and groups to improve social functioning. The work involves assessment and preparation of case analysis; identification of social needs and recommending appropriate action.  Employees are responsible for preparing case analysis and reports, acting as a resource to educators and are establishing/maintaining effective working relationships with students, parents, teaching staff, groups, other government departments, community agencies and the general public. As the variety and difficulty of assignments increases, more latitude in independent judgment and decision making is permitted as the employee acquires knowledge and skill in the assigned areas of activities. Qualifications:  Graduation from university with a Bachelor in Social Work or a related discipline.

Salary:  In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees–Professional Support Group Collective Agreement, $1,792.98 to $2303.88 bi-weekly.

TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST: LEVEL I

DEFINITION

Under the direction of the Level 2 Technician and/or Information Systems Manager, this employee is responsible to provide day-to-day technical support of LANs, Fortinet firewalls hardware, software and peripherals, Active Directory, Notebook Application, Help Desk Client, Inventory Asset Management to schools and district offices.

Tasks

·         Carry out the installation, configuration, maintenance, update and administration of network operating systems on school and district office servers. (Fortinet firewalls, switches and access points)

·         Carry out the installation; configuration, maintenance, update, administration and inventory of hardware and software.

·         Respond to clients’ needs through established call tracking system (help desk) and/or other systems.

·         Carry out maintenance of Help Desk application -client

·         Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems relating to networks, workstations and software applications.

·         Install and troubleshoot network cabling, at the discretion of the district.

·         Carry out maintenance of accounts using Active Directory or Azure.

·         Carry out maintenance of notebook application

·         Keep school and district staff informed of any changes, repairs or updates to their information systems.

·         Technical liaison between schools, districts, service providers and department of education staff.

·         Assist in the management and upkeep of the provincial inventory database in schools.

·         Assist in the management and protection of identified critical data in schools.

·         Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Level 2 Technician and/or Information Systems Manager.

 

Qualifications

·         Successful completion of a recognized Computer Technology program or equivalent work experience.

·         A+ certified and one or more of the following certifications: CCNA, MCSE, MCP would be an asset. Must be ready to acquire other certifications as required.

·         Minimum of two (2) years experience as a computer technician who has worked with network operating systems.

·         An equivalent combination of training and experience related to the position may be accepted.

 

Necessary Special Requirements

·         Must be able to work as part of a team, as well as being able to work independently with a diverse client base.

·         Must be physically fit, as this position requires lifting an average of 40 lbs.

·         Must have good leadership and organizational skills.

·         Expected to stay abreast of latest technology developments.

·         Must have demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

·         Must have a valid driver’s licence and transportation for travel within NB as required.

·         Must have Canadian residency

Term Position: Effective: Immediately – June 30, 2021 with the Possibility of Extension
 
Description:  This is professional work in the field of speech language pathology.  Employees of this class perform clinical work, according to professional standards and district policies and procedures, involving the screening, identification, assessment, interpretation, diagnosis, rehabilitation and prevention of communication disorders.  Work performed is oriented to client or community needs and may require active participation on interdisciplinary teams, consultation on client waitlists, determination of service delivery options, ongoing assessment and discharge readiness determination.  Work may be performed in a school district and/or community-based settings.  Work includes participation in planning and implementation of program activities, and may include quality improvement, performance management and statistical activities, student/parent education and research and may include caseload management and care coordination.  Work may include relieving the superior in his/her absence and supervising support personnel.  Work is performed independently and is reviewed by a superior.  Employees of the Speech Language Pathologist classification may be required to provide clinical supervision of delegated function (tasks/activities) to rehabilitation therapy assistants, guidance, training and orientation to other speech language pathology staff, students and other professionals.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from a recognized university.  Registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
Salary: In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees-Professional Support Group Collective Agreement, $2,569.56 to $3,235.71 bi-weekly.

Work involves driving a school bus for Anglophone South School District on an assigned route.  Duties include the operation of the assigned school bus according to Province of New Brunswick applicable legislation and regulations; conducting cleanup, checking and inspection of the assigned school bus as required; adhering to schedule of run as established by the District; maintenance of discipline and orderly conduct on the school bus according to District policy; and generally ensuring the provision of school bus driving services and of any other services which the District may from time to time assign, all in accordance with the terms of the Collective Agreement. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED. Description: The School Psychologist will be a member of an Integrated Service Delivery Child and Youth Team in the Hampton or Saint John area and will be responsible to:
·        Provide a broad range of professional psychological services in the school system in the application of the science of psychology to the areas of student learning and behaviour, assessment and evaluation, understanding of child and adolescent exceptionalities and psychological adjustment.
·        Consult with teachers, members of the Education Support Services Team (ESST) and Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) teams and parents in a collaborative process of defining problems and developing appropriate programs and interventions.
·        Be involved in individual student psychological assessments, in-service education, participation in the development of preventive and crisis response programs, program evaluation and professional supervision of psychometrists.
Qualifications:  A master’s or doctoral degree in psychology with course work and experience to meet the requirements for licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick. Successful completion of course work in child and adolescent development as well as child and adolescent exceptionalities are required. Experience in school psychology is desirable. The successful candidate must be capable of working both independently and in a collaborative manner with students, parents, teachers, Integrated Service Delivery, and Education Support Services Teams. Knowledge of school-based decision-making and policies would be an asset.
Necessary Special Requirement:  Licensed membership [or pending] in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick.
Salary:  In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees–Professional Support Group Collective Agreement, $2,690.74 to $3,240.11 bi-weekly.

    Community Schools Coordinator

36.25 hours per week Temporary Position

 (effective Immediately – July 31, 2021 with the possibility of extension)

(Current assignment – Hazen-White-St. Francis School)

 

The Community Schools Coordinator will be responsible for creating and managing partnerships and volunteers on behalf of Hazen-White-St. Francis School.  Working with the Community Schools District Coordinator, knowledge of the area will assist in identifying local resources and opportunities that may not be immediately apparent to the District Coordinator. The School Coordinator will be responsible to ensure that proper communication with the School Principal is undertaken and that all partnership activity has been approved and supports the identified needs of the schools.

Reporting to the School Principal and the Community Schools District Coordinator, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Working with the School Principal and Community Schools District Coordinator to develop long-term strategic plans for local community and business involvement with the schools;

·         Involvement in the day to day operation at the school level of learning programs, community development, education experience and community engagement within the school;

·         Ensuring volunteers and community resources which deal directly with students in the schools, have been adequately cleared and trained (i.e. Policy 701, Criminal Records Checks )

·         Maintaining records and schedules of all community-based activities at the school;

·         Acting as a liaison between the school and the community;

·         Reporting regularly to the Principal and the Community Schools District Coordinator on best practices and new partnerships developed;

·         Provide reports, updates and data as needed by the principal, district, partners, and Department of Education promoting and creating local partnerships to support curriculum outcomes and the school’s needs.

 

Qualifications:

·         Must demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, analytical and communication skills as well as be able to multi-task, and work within tight deadlines. 

·         Work independently on many projects.

·         A Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, health, or related field is required with a background in Community Development.

·         Five years’ experience working with children as well as youth

·         Five years’ experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation

·         Food Safety Course

·         Criminal Record Check

Salary: This position falls under Pay Band 2 ($1620 - $2260 bi-weekly).

DEFINITION: This is highly responsible and supervisory work in the operation and maintenance of a large heating system in a major school complex. Work involves responsibility for the operation and maintenance of an electrical and or a steam heating plant and all allied electrical and/or mechanical systems. Duties include supervising the activities of power engineers, plumbers and electricians in the operation and maintenance of heating plants, heating and refrigeration systems, allied auxiliary units and electrical appliances; assigning and monitoring work and evaluating performance. Duties may also include the installation of new equipment and the alteration of heating systems, sprinkler systems, refrigeration systems and auxiliary equipment; requisitioning fuel, parts and equipment; keeping records of fuel consumption, maintenance and hours worked by staff. Work may also include the supervision of all custodial staff employed in the school.
