Principal's Email to Families, April 14, 2024

Greetings HES Families,

A few updates for you below as we begin the week.

Family Teacher Conferences –  Family Teacher Conferences are Monday, April 15th from 8:30am -11:30am and  4pm – 7pm. Appointments can be booked by using the link

Please use the drop-down arrow to select the teacher that you would like to meet with. Families requiring a phone or virtual meeting are asked to contact their child’s teacher to book these.

Scholastic Book Fair April 15th- 19th - Let’s all be bolder, prouder, stronger readers!

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”  Students had a sneak peek at the fair last week so they could bring their wish lists home. Families can come to visit the fair on Monday the 15th in the morning from 8:30-11:30am, as well as during the evening between 4-7pm. While visiting the Scholastic Book Fair, be sure to fill out a ballot for the family draw door prize, which is a $25 certificate to shop at the fair. Students will be able to visit the fair during the week on their regular library times on Tues the 16th and Thurs the 18th. If students happen to forget to bring their money on the Tues there will be time available for them to visit the fair on Thursday. Thank you for your support!

HES Jump Rope for Heart HES is excited to participate in Jump Rope for Heart again this year. Fundraising for Jump Rope for Heart will take place between April 16th and April 26th and the fundraising envelopes will be sent home with students on April 16th. We have invited our future students at DATL to join us in the jumping events taking place the week of April 22nd to April 26th during our jump week. Each HES class will be paired with a class from DATL, with the HES students leading the DATL students through 8 different skipping/ jumping stations. Thank you to both Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Brenton for your work on this joint schools initiative!

Have a good evening!

Ms. Donovan
