Message
from PSSC (Parent School Support Committee) chair Emily McGill -The PSSC members are parents/guardians, FES Principal,
Vice Principal and a Teacher representative and a member of the District
Education Council (DEC). Together, we work on the school improvement
plan, share ideas to improve the school community and discuss issues that
affect the entire student population. We are looking for new members!
This is a great committee for any parent, but especially for those who work
full-time but want to be involved in the school life at FES. The
committee meets one night in October, November, January, February, April and
May for 1.5 hours. Come join us and help contribute to the learning
environment for our children. Please contact Bonnie Hierlihy, principal,
at bonnie.hierlihy@nbed.nb.ca if you are interested in joining. You can also reach out to the PSSC Chair,
Emily McGill at emilykmcgill@gmail.com.
-Public
Health send “First Reminder to Parents of Children with Incomplete Records”
notices to kindergarten families whose children had incomplete immunization
records. Many students did not have the 4 year booster at
the time of school registration. Students are required to show proof of
immunizations for school entry. Please send in your child’s updated record. If
you have questions, please contact your local public health office at 658-2285.
-Library
volunteers are still needed for the following classes. If you are able to
assist, please contact our library coordinator, Rita Raymond, ritaraymond03@gmail.com. The hope
is that the library will open for class visits on Monday, Oct. 3rd.

-Please find attached a poster for the
upcoming Sweet Caroline Run. All monies raised go towards scholarships for High
School and University students.
-Thank you to those who attended our
Home and School meeting last night. It was a very productive meeting with many
people stepping up to lead initiatives. We are thankful for the dedicated
parents we have at FES!
-Our Grade 5 team is looking for parents
who may be able to deliver recycling to the depot every Friday. They use the
profits from recycling (juice boxes) to help with grade 5 year end festivities.
If you are able to assist weekly, or even once a month, please email me at Bonnie.Hierlihy@nbed.nb.ca.
