​Here are your morning announcements for October 8th , 2022.   

*The announcements posted today reflect those which were read this morning. Please be aware that changes could occur during the day (cancellations, etc.) and we might not be able to amend them.  

First Half- Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green classrooms will report to cafeteria during the first half of lunch. The grade level groups from blue, purple, black and white teams will report to target locations using the Courtenay Bay Doors.    

Second Half- Blue, Purple, Black, and White will report to cafeteria and grade level groups from Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green will be in their assigned areas using the back doors near the gym. 

Target Locations: This week the grade 6 groups will report to the Courtyard, grade 7 groups will report to the field, and grade 8 groups will report to the gym 

Rotation Flow Chart: Gym --> Courtyard --> Field --> Gym 

Reminders: 

  • Cafeteria: Grade level groups will continue to rotate eating in their classrooms due to overcrowding in the cafeteria. Our grade 8 classes will be eating in their homerooms during their designated eating time this week.  Staff, please follow the duty rotation sent out in the Sunday Memo.   

Important Info:  

  • Oct. 14: Grade 7 Immunization Day (please see the Bronco Broadcast for more information) 

  • Picture Re-take day is going to be held on October 20th, only students who have returned their retake request form, and those who missed the first round will be permitted to attend.  

 

Clubs and Activities: 

  • BAYSIDE FINE ARTS: 

  • BEGINNER BAND:   We had a great first start to our year at our practice yesterday!   

  • TODAY at lunch – Trumpets, Trombones, Basses and Percussion 

  • CHOIR – We were happy to have a few new members join us yesterday.  We are getting ready for the Remembrance day assembly , Santa parade and a special appearance at a concert at the Imperial as well as a Bayside Winter concert!... If you like to sing – come join us on Wednesday at lunch. 

  • Tech Crew -  First meeting is on Friday at lunch. Bring your lunch to the music room first half. We will be meeting through the full lunch hour. 

  • GSA will meet today at lunch in Mrs. Shannon’s room (314). All are welcome, and please bring your markers. 

  • Friday Gr 6 Comics/Drawing Club will be happening in Mr. Carpenter’s classroom during lunch...he’s in Room 114. The sign-up sheet will be posted on Wednesday located outside of room 114. 

  • Board Game Club – Starting Tuesday October 11th in Mr. Swain’s room (237). Mr. Swain has a variety of board games to enjoy. Feel free to bring your own school appropriate board games. Bring your lunches and stay for the hour. Open to the first 20 students. 

BAYSIDE ATHLETICS:  

  • Boys Soccer:  3-1 victory against River Valley! Practice Wednesday 3-4:30 

 

  • Girls Soccer  

  • Congrats to the girls on their 2-1 Victory over River Valley yesterday! 

  

  • The Cross-country team will meet Thursday at lunch for our practice at the beginning of your activity zone. The next and final cross-country meet will be next Tuesday, October 11th at Forest Hills School and will cost $2 per participant. 

 

Cheerleading: The first practice will be held this Friday, October 7th after school from 3-5:30. Please have your hair up, jewelry off and gym clothes ready for practice. 

 
PE Leadership: 

Please report to the gym at 11:45 (Thursday). Bring your lunch and prepare to stay for the entire lunchtime. Please see the list for leadership students to see which day you are scheduled.
