​Hey students and families. It is difficult to believe the unusual time that we are experiencing. We are sure that many of you are finding it as difficult to be socially distant as we are. With Minister Cardy’s announcement yesterday that unless there is a dramatic change, schools will not be re-opening this year, we are sure you must have a number of questions. Please feel free to reach out to us by 1) phoning the school at 575-6010; 2) phoning the district at 1-506-461-4100; or 3) visiting the school website and completing the Request to Connect form on the website. Your teachers will be providing information about the Continuation of Learning plan soon. Please continue to check the ASD-W website as well as our school website for updates. We wish you well and hope everyone is staying safe and well.

My name is Mrs. Robina Sharkey and I will be replacing Mrs. Anderson as the Principal of NMS for the rest of this school year. I have been looking forward to meeting each of you, but now it seems that I probably won’t have that opportunity. I have heard a number of wonderful things and about the school and the students and staff and am sorry that I won’t get to see you in person. I have had a chance to meet with your teachers on-line and they are missing each of you and want to help if needed. ASD-W will soon be providing information about how to continue your learning for the remainder of this year and following that your teachers will be reaching out to you about this plan. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we move through this new experience for all of us.

Bonjour tout le monde! Tu me manques, mais je suis reconnaissante pour tous les souvenirs que j’ai de tes sourires, de tes rires, de tes histoires, et de tes bêtises. Ils me donnent de la joie en cette période difficile. S’il te plaît, prends soin de toi; sois gentil et fort, quand tu le peux, pour tes frères et sœurs et tes parents. Peu importe ce qui se passe au cours des prochaines semaines ou des prochains mois, n’oublie pas de montrer ta résilience et ta capacité à t’adapter à tout ce qui t’arrive. Tu traverseras cela. Je suis tellement fière de vous tous! Je regrette d’apprendre ensemble, mais rassurez-vous, vous avez les outils pour apprendre par vous-même. Garder le sourire.  J’attendrai ici les bras grands ouverts à votre retour.

Hello students! I miss you but am thankful for all the memories I have of your smiles, your laughter, your stories, and your antics.They give me joy during this tough time. Please take care of yourself; be kind and strong, when you can, for your siblings and your parents. No matter what happens during the next few weeks or months, remember to show your resilience and your ability to adapt to whatever comes your way. You will get through this. I am so proud of you all! I miss learning together, but rest assured, you have the tools to learn on your own. Keep smiling.  I will be here waiting with arms wide open when you return!
