Kindergarten Nov. 21-24

Thank you to each of you who attended parent teacher interviews last evening and I look forward to the remaining interviews tomorrow morning.

We have had another successful week of learning and fun in kindergarten.  The children were thrilled with the gentle dusting of snow this week.  Thank you for dressing your children appropriately.  Now that the colder weather is upon us, it is important that all students have a warm coat, hat, mitts and boots, depending on the temperature and precipitation.

Literacy -

Jolly Phonics Zz

Phonics Zz with American Pronounciation

Jolly Phonics Jj

Bounce Patrol Kids Jj

This week, we practiced the letters Jj and Zz and continued on with our writing and phonological awareness skill of segmenting words.

Math -

Pentatonix Sings 1-5

We began investigating numbers to 3 by recognizing the numerals, making sets and counting using 1 to 1 correspondence.

You and Your World -

Life Long Ago and Now

We continued learning about friendship and integrated the "bucket filling" concept into our daily lives in the classroom and on the playground.  We have also taken a look at the roles people played long ago versus today.

Book Orders - Book orders were sent home on Wednesday and are due back next week.  If there are any books you are interested in ordering but would like me to keep a secret for Christmas gifts, please send along your order form and write me a note indicating your wish.

I am still looking for volunteers to come in during the month of December to help bake, help with board games, be a mystery reader or lead a Christmas craft.  Please let me know if you are available.

Thank you.  Have a wonderful weekend.
