May 22-25 E-Newsletter
Good morning parents,
Another short week but there is a lot going on. Creative clusters this Wednesday, students will continue their chosen activities. A reminder that lunch order forms are due back this Thursday May 24th.
Friday May 25th
·         Grade 3-5 students will be traveling by bus to Nasis Middle school to participate in track and field events.  We will leave the school at 8:30ish. Please be sure they have snacks, watcher etc. and have used the washroom. I will be joining you for the morning. This day will help determine what students will go to our district meet in June. Rain date is Monday, May 28th. 
·         It will also be our last movie night of the school year, we will be showing Big Hero 6.
·         Donations for Heart and Stroke are due back Friday as well.
This week in grade 5…..
Math: Students continue their statistics and probability unit. They are starting to create their own double bar graphs.
Health: We will be talking about changes in friendship. They will discuss how to cope with these changes as well.
Literacy: The class will be finishing their novel “The Frame Up” this week and we will start our final book of the year, “The Witches” by Roald Dahl. They are finishing up their persuasive writing (our formal writing piece for the semester).
Science: This week we continue our study of matter. Now that we have learned the different type of matter, students will be experimenting the properties of matter.
Important dates
  • Tuesday May 22- Bagel hot lunch.
  • Wednesday May 23- Drama practice after school. Creative Clusters. New to Kindergarten Orientation 1-2:15pm.
  • Thursday May 24- Hot lunch pizza.  Grade 5s swimming at Nasis pool. Hot Lunch order forms are due.
  • Friday May 25- Grades 3-5 Track and Field Day. Tots N Taters Hot lunch. LHHS Clubs. Movie Night. Heart and Stroke donations due
