Good morning parents of the fabulous 5s!
 
Here is what we are learning in the grade 5 classroom...
 
French: Today, we begin our new French unit on SPORTS. As the weather has delayed our Fashion show a couple of times, we have rescheduled our final clothing presentation to this WEDNESDAY. This week, students will learn how to discuss their favourite sports.
 
Math: In Math, students should now be able to add and subtract decimals. We have also reviewed regrouping when necessary, and how to subtract across 0. Students are also able to read numbers involving decimals, and are able to order numbers involving decimals. This week, students have begun the fraction unit. We have reviewed how to determine a fraction of a whole and of a set. We have also begun looking at equivalent fractions, and how to compare decimals with the same denominator.
 
Important notes...
 
Fashion show: This will take place this Wednesday, January 31st.
 
Mad Science: Mad Science begins today afterschool!
