Weekly What’s Up: December 18-22, 2017
It’s hard to believe that it’s our last week of school in 2017!  I know everyone is looking forward to the Christmas break and all of the holiday celebrations that come with it.  Even though it is the last week of school it is still important to stick to a regular schedule (good night’s sleep, breakfast, etc).  The activities that we are doing are Christmas themed, but still focus on reading, writing, math and cooperation.  There will be special activities and treats scattered throughout the week.
Literacy:   I will be sending home a copy of your child’s letter that was mailed to Santa and one of the letters that they wrote to Twinkle, our reindeer from the North Pole.  I have also included a copy of the marking criteria for this reporting period.  I did not mark these pieces as they were not completed independently.  You can look over their work with your child and ask them to show you where in their writing they demonstrated each trait.  Remember to continue to read over the break!
Math:  This week’s numbers of the day will be 70-75.
Please continue to practice 10 partners and doubles over the break.  You can roll a die or draw a card from a deck and ask your child to double that number or tell you the number’s 10 partner.
You and Your World:  Students enjoyed sharing their holiday traditions with each other.
