Career Week

We started off Career Week today with a pharmacist. The children really enjoyed all that she told them. They learned that they only take medicine that is just for them and that an adult they trust gives them. They even got to "make" their own medicine with an empty capsule and some icing sugar!

Thank you, Ms. Goodine! We are looking forward to the rest of our presenters this week as well!

Our new sight words this week are old, little, jump, now, fast and do.

I hope to be sending home books from school for your child to read during the week. These will be books that the student can read on their own, so they should not be challenging for them but may require a reminder about how to sound out a word.

In math we are still working on numbers to 20, counting forwards and backwards (forwards is good, but we need to work on counting backwards). We are also sorting objects by one attribute (eg. colour, size, shape, etc) and explaining how we sorted them. The children are getting very good at this. Yay!!!

Halloween is, of course, tomorrow and we encourage the children to wear black and orange for the day. Please don't bring costumes as I don't want any broken hearts if it gets dirty or torn before the big night.

Have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Penney
