Weekly Memo - March 13-17March 03 Good afternoon, MAS Families,
We had a very fun week this week with lots of excitement! On Monday, all
students helped make a spaghetti, garlic bread and salad lunch using vegetables
grown right here at MAS. Several students told me that it was the “best day
ever!” We also had Kindness BINGO in the afternoon; congrats to Ms. McCabe’s
class for being the big winners! We want to thank the Fredericton Police Force
for judging our Black History Month bulletin boards. The boards were all
amazing, but the one that came out on top was Ms. Boone’s class’ board! On
Thursday, our students visited Nashwaaksis Memorial for a tour, dance party and
lunch. We all felt very welcome and look forward to our next visit. Today, we
gathered in the gym for a pj/movie.
We also want to congratulate community member Carolyn MacBeth for winning
our gift card raffle draw! This fundraiser brought in over $1000 for student
activities – amazing! We will make sure the remainder of the year is tons of
fun! Thank you to everyone for supporting the school with this fundraiser.

Weekly Memo - Feb. 27-March 3February 24 Happy Friday, MAS Families!
It has been a great week here at MAS. On Wednesday, we were a “Sea of Pink”
as we recognized Pink Shirt Day. Our assembly was wonderful, and I’d like to
thank Ms. McCabe’s class for the skit teaching us all about being an ‘upstander’.
Ask your child what this means! On Thursday, we had our fifth “Student Voice
Meeting”. Check out the image to see what our students love about our school
and how they think we could improve the school. We discuss their ideas at our
monthly staff meetings and do our best to implement changes based on the
feedback our students give us.

Weekly Memo Feb. 13-17 February 10 Good afternoon, MAS families. I hope everyone had a great week and that
you're staying safe out there today. Kindness Month and Black History Month are
underway, and we hope your children have been sharing some of the learning that
has been taking place. Our Kindness word of the week was "Empathy"
and we talked about what this means on announcements and in classes. As well,
we have learned about a different African-Canadian on announcements each day.
Classes are participating in a Black History Month bulletin board decorating
contest, and we are excited to share these at the end of the month! On
Wednesday, Sarah Francis who is our First Nations Subject Coordinator visited
our school to share First Nations stories, songs, dances and much more. Also,
growing is underway at MAS and I have attached some pictures of our plants so
