​Happy Friday, MAS families!  It was a busy but great week here at McAdam Avenue with lots happening already!  We started Cross Country practices with any interested students in grades 3-5, library classes began, we had school pictures taken, we got a start on our Diversity library which supports one of our School Improvement goals and participated in an amazing Becca Schofield Day assembly!  I have attached some pictures for you to see.

Items to note for this week:

1. Our Indigo Adopt-A-School fundraiser started on Sunday, Sept. 11.  This means that September 11th-October 1^st all the money raised for the book love program at the Indigo store that we have been partnered with in Oakville, Ontario will be donated to McAdam Avenue to help update the school library. Here’s the link to donate and to share with family and friends: https://indigoloveofreadingfoundation.givecloud.co/fundraisers/mcadam-avenue-school-fredericton-new-brunswick
2. The Terry Fox Run forms were sent home.  Donations can also be made online at https://schools.terryfox.ca/7591
3. We’d love to hear about any Acts of Kindness your child(ren) performed on the weekend for Becca Schofield Day!  Please feel free to send them along to me or their teacher.
4. The breakfast program will begin the week of September 28!  That means all students will have access to breakfast foods each day.    
5. School supply fees ($47.25) can be paid online at https://anglophonewest.schoolcashonline.com/.  If you would like to work out a payment schedule, please let Roxy or I know.  We would be happy to support you with this.
6. Wednesday, Sept. 21 – Cross Country at Gibson Neill Memorial Elementary School at 1:15 for any student who has been attending practices at school (grades 3-5).  Please note you must provide transportation for your child (drop off and pick up).
7. Wednesday, Sept. 21 – Home and School and PSSC meeting at 6:30.
8. Thursday, Sept. 22 – Pancake breakfast
9. Friday, Sept. 22 – Terry Fox run
10. Our school is hosting a Cross Country meet from 1:15-2:15 on October 5, and we’d love to have some volunteers come to help out!  Please reach out to me if you are interested.
11. A Thank You goes out to Chelsea at Jim Gilbert’s Wheels and Deals for donating a water bottle to each student!
12. Our new School Improvement Plan can be found on our school website.

Looking ahead:

1. Our wonderful Home and School Committee is facilitating a Java Moose coffee fundraiser!  Shop local and support our school at the same time!  Information and order forms will be sent home on Monday, Sept. 26 and this fundraiser will run until October 11.

1. Wednesday, Sept. 28 – Cross Country at Henry Park 1:15-2:15 for those students in grades 3-5 who have committed to Cross Country.

1. Thursday, Sept. 29 – Our first Student Voice meeting - I will choose different students monthly to meet with me to discuss how they think things are going at school.

1. Friday, Sept. 30 is Orange Shirt Day.  We will be having an assembly that day.  STAR student awards will also be handed out.
