Hello MAS Families. I want to start by saying ‘Thank You’ to all the
families that participated in our Virtual Meet the Teacher this week. It was
fun to say “Hi” online and see familiar faces and meet new ones. We had a great
week here at MAS. We ended the week with our Terry Fox walk in the field.
Students walked with their class around the field while listening to music.
This year the Terry Fox theme is “Try Like Terry” encouraging students to
persevere. Hard to believe we are already saying goodbye to September and hello
to October this week. As we move into October the mornings are definitely
getting colder. Please be sure your child is coming dressed for the weather.
Reminders
Picture Day-
Put on your best smile for picture day! Wednesday, September 30th.
(students can change into orange shirts after photos if you would like)
Orange Shirt Day-
On Wednesday, September 30th students are encouraged to wear orange
in recognition of residential schools reconciliation. Orange Shirt day was
designed to commemorate the residential school experience, to witness and
honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit
to the ongoing process of reconciliation.
Student Fees-
Reminder to those that have not paid student fees. Please contact the school to
make arrangements. The cost this year is $45 and can be paid through schoolcash
online.
Classroom donations- As
September and runny noses begin, our Kleenex stock is being depleted quickly.
If you would like to make a donation to your child’s classroom, please feel
free to send in an unopen box of Kleenex. We are also in need of large and
small baggies and milk straws.
Morning arrival-
I want to encourage parents to please drop off students by 8:05am bell. This will
allow them to enter with their classmates.
Feeling Unwell- It
looks like the runny noses and coughs have gotten to us early this year, but I
want to say a big THANK YOU to parents and students for doing their part in
keeping our school healthy. Students are doing a great job of using kleenex and
sanitizing often. Parents are doing a great job of monitoring and keeping some
students home until they are feeling better. So thank you for all doing our part
and working together as a team to keep our school community healthy! Reminder
if you ever have concerns or your child is not feeling well you can visit this
site to complete the self-assessment and it will guide you on whether or not
you need to self-monitor or book for testing. https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/departments/ocmoh/cdc/content/respiratory_diseases/coronavirus.html
