​It has been another great week at MAS! I would like to send a big THANK YOU to our parent volunteers- Amy, Helga, Phil, Jeremy, Terry, and Matt for taking time last Saturday to build our school a ‘GAGA’ pit and for also cleaning up our front flower beds and garden. The students have had a blast all week enjoying the gaga pit and playing with friends. We are a small school, but mighty and support from our parent community is one of the reasons.

A few reminders: 

Students Fees- Reminder that we are still looking for student fees. The cost this year is $45. This can be paid online or at school. Please contact the school to make arrangements.

Apple Picking Field Trip- Apple picking field trip is on Thursday, September 26^th. Students are asked to dress for the weather and to be sure to bring a picnic lunch. We will be travelling by bus to Riverview Orchard. Reminder the cost of the trip is $4 per student. I would like to thank our home and school for covering the remainder of the fee.

School Pictures- As you are aware this year we are doing school photos with LifeTouch. The individual student proofs will arrive in the next 5-7 days. You are then able to purchase online or with the paper order form.

Breakfast Program- Breakfast program is on Tuesday, September 24th. This week students will be having bagels and fruit. All students are welcome. When they arrive on the playground they come right inside the grade 2-5 door and come downstairs to the gymnasium to enjoy breakfast with friends. If arriving close to bell students will take the breakfast back to classroom.

Terry Fox Walk/Run- On Friday afternoon we will be holding our Terry Fox walk/run on the school field. Students are encouraged to donate $2 towards the cause. All students will receive a terry fox tattoo.

Home and School and PSSC Meetings- We will be holding our first meetings of the school year. Home and School is at 6pm and PSSC follows at 7pm. We encourage all parents to come out and join to see what the committees are all about. It is a great way to meet other school families and to be involved in your child’s education.

Monday, Sept. 23-  Hot lunch. Great Canadian Bagel.

Tuesday, Sept. 24- Breakfast Program. Hot Lunch Tots N Taters. Home and School and PSSC meetings 6pm & 7pm. Etsey Art program begins afterschool 3-4:30pm.

Wednesday, Sept. 25- Cross Country for students in grades 3-5 that have joined at MAS. Students are welcome to stay and eat lunch here then go out for their run. Hot Lunch order forms are due back.

Thursday, Sept. 26- Apple picking at Riverview Orchard. Hot Lunch Tots N Taters- this will arrive in time for students to take along with them.

Friday, Sept. 27- Hot Lunch Papa Johns.
