Hello MAS Families!! We have had a fun week at MAS
from some students mixing up slime and the whole school learning about Heart
Health.
On Monday our Multi-age group went to York
Care with their Leo Hayes buddies. They got to experiment in making slime
and having a gooey fun mess with the residents.
On Tuesday Jump Rope for Heart was here to
kick off our fundraising for Heart and Stroke foundation. They shared important
information with students about staying active and healthy.
May the Math be With You- Family Math Night will be hosted this Wednesday, May
15th starting at 6:00pm. We will begin the night in the gymnasium with a
short introduction from our district Math Leads. We will then have
classrooms set up with math take aways. Some rooms will be everyday ideas to
incorporate math into your home and another will be math games make and takes
per grade level. At the make and take room you will be able to make and play
games to take away with you. This will be a great opportunity for parents
to gain a better understanding of the math curriculum and ways to
help support your child at home. We hope to see you there!
Reminders:
No School- Reminder there is no school
on Monday, May 13. This is teacher NBTA branch meeting day.
Breakfast Program- Tuesday (May 14,
2019) - Breakfast will be bagels and fruit or fruit smoothies.
Jump Rope for Heart- On Monday students brought home Jump Rope for Heart
Fundraising forms. Forms are due back on Monday, May 27th.
MAS Color Splash Dash- One of the most enjoyable fundraisers of the year will
be happening soon! Please keep an eye out for more information coming home
this week. We hope everyone will invite friends and family and come out for a
morning of FUN! Date- June 8th. We are still looking for volunteers to help run
this event. If you are interested, please let us know.
Track and Field Gr 3-5- We are still looking for any parents that are
interested and willing to help volunteer for track and field day at Nasis
Middle school for our grade 3-5s on May 27 (rain day May 28). Please let me
know if you can help out.
Bike Rodeo- We will be hosting another bike rodeo for our
students on Wednesday, May 22 at 1:30pm. Students are invited back to school
with their bikes. The bike rodeo will take place in the tennis courts.
Fredericton City Police will be here to share bike safety and check bikes over.
There will be stations set up for students to practice bike safety. This is
lots of fun and learning and the event lasts about 45 minutes.
Drama and Spring Concert- On June 5th at 10:30am we will be having our
Drama/Spring Concert. Parents are invited to join us to see our drama
students perform "Jillian Jiggs", along with hearing our k-5 classes
take the stage to share a song. We look forward to seeing you here!
Weather-
Please be sure your child is coming dressed for the spring weather- warm, cold,
and wet! Even on days that it may be sprinkling, we will try and get out and
get fresh air. Days that are cool in the morning and warm in afternoon, please
dress in layers so you can unzip or take off sweater when the weather is warmer
in afternoon.
