​My name is Alex Yaychuk and I will once again be your Acting Principal for the 2022-2023 School year. Having experienced a wonderful year of learning, growth, and collaboration last year, I am looking forward to continuing to work with staff, students, and families in the Garden Creek community. I encourage all to check out the Family Handbook link above for information on our School. 

Your Teachers, Educational Assistants, Administrative Assistants, Custodians, and all support staff are committed to working together to foster an ideal learning environment that provides structure and stability to your children’s daily lives. Following an eventful school year (2021-2022), I have seen firsthand the level of dedication and awareness that the staff at GC has for their students’ social emotional wellbeing. When a child feels safe, their ability to take-in, interpret, and utilize information increases greatly!

We have a number of important events and dates which will be communicated to you throughout the school year either by weekly emails or by occasional voicemails. If you are not receiving these messages, please inform our front office (453-5409). Students will be bringing home Data Collection Forms along with other pertinent info to be signed and returned. Our incredible administrative assistants are happy to assist all families if they have questions on how to complete these.

Lastly, I would like to add that our upcoming ‘Meet the Teacher Night’ will be conducted in-person at Garden Creek School on Wednesday, September 21^st. This evening will give you a sneak peek into your child’s new classroom and give you a chance to learn more about the various learning opportunities that will be taking place. We will begin with a fundraising BBQ at followed by an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher in-person. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be going directly to our Lilypad Legacy Project. I encourage you to check out our school website for more information, including a video, on this great endeavor. Stay tuned for more information on specific times as we near the 21^st.​ 

Garden Creek is a school that prides itself on providing meaningful experiences that both inspire and challenge students to discover and appreciate the many joys of learning. We are excited to showcase this during the course of the 2022-2023 school year!
