Re: CONFIRMED CASE OF COVID-19 IN OUR
SCHOOL
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This is to inform you that a
positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in our school.
We are working with Public
Health officials to identify any students and school personnel who may have
been in contact with the virus. To protect the privacy of students and school
personnel, details, including names of those affected, will not be released.
At this time, we ask you to
model calmness, kindness and respect, in order to keep anxieties down. Children
and young people look to adults in their lives to guide them on how to react to
worrying and stressful events.
Public Health officials will contact you if your child
has been in close contact with the confirmed case and will tell you if your
child needs to self-isolate. If you are not contacted by Public Health
officials, your child can continue to attend school and is welcome to return on
Monday, November 23. If you have been contacted by Public Health, please follow
their instructions carefully.
If your child is showing
any symptoms of COVID-19, you should:
- Register them online for a test by clicking
"Get Started" on the GNB Corona Virus website (www.gnb.ca/coronavirus) or,
- Call Tele-Care 811 or,
- Contact your primary care provider.
To reach the Fredericton
and Upper River Valley Public Health general inquiry line, please call (506)
325-4621 or 453-3071.
We will continue to
communicate updates to you through School Messenger and our website.
Thank you for helping keep our
school, community, and province safe.
Sincerely,
David McTimoney
Superintendent
