Homework and Key Dates, October 22-26th, 2018

Dear Families, 

Here are the notes for this week:

Homework:
1) Reading-Please have your child read the home reading books in French to you each evening Monday-Thursday for 10-15 minutes. 

2) Math-Please practice skip counting by 2's and 10's to 50.

3) Math Collection-please bring in a collection of items from home in a ziploc bag that range from 50-80 small items. (ie. Lego bricks, buttons, stickers, etc) so we can practice estimation skills. 

Summary:

French: We are focusing on the voyelles in French (a, e, i , o, u and y) and this week specifically o. You can practice sight words with your child at home or have them sing the song to you:

Math: Our focus this week is on ordering numbers from 1-20 on a number line and saying them in French. Students are continuing estimation skills and showing patterns. 

Music: We have been focused on following the beat and rhythm in Music class. Students used their self-made instruments to follow the beat to 2 different songs this week! 

Key Dates:

World Polio Day Wed, Oct 24th Wear a Purple t-shirt/sweater/accessories please! 

Take Me Outside Day-Oct 24 please dress warmly for activities outside. 

Pumpkin Walk is October 31st-please bring in a decorated pumpkin to the stage if you would like to participate. 

Healthy Halloween Costume Party Oct 31st. Please send in a costume and a healthy snack to share with the students (letter sent last week) Parents have volunteered to bring cheese, crackers, fruit, vegetables, orange juice, punch, cupcakes and rice krispie squares and mini-pizzas. If you have something you DO NOT want your child to eat, please discuss with them and let me know. 

**Please make sure all foods are peanut free/tree nut free as we have a student who is allergic! Thank you.   ​
