What's Up in 1A this week

Bonjour les familles,
Here is what's up in 1A this week...
Monday (Mar 26):  I am not at school, I have meetings at district office. Fear not...Mme Boyle will be teaching and she has everything under control!  I am confident she will do a great job!
Tuesday (Mar 27):  reminder there is no school for students because of PD
Wednesday (Mar 28): popcorn snack.  Multicultural night at the school 6pm
Thursday (Mar 29): Easter breakfast - Lauralee should have contacted you by now for your contribution. Thank you in advance!
Friday (Mar 30): no school Good Friday
Monday (Apr 2): no school Easter Monday
A few changes in French reading:  I have started a new duo tang for the students for complex sounds. I will be sending home the blue duo tang as it is pretty full!  Please do not discard the book as it is great French reading practice with single sounds (all vowels and consonants!). Students know the songs very well and it would not hurt to practice a few of these a couple times per week. The new duo tang is black and contains the 3 new complex sounds we have learned so far: ch, ou and on/om. Also, I am in the process of preparing home reading bags for all students to take home each week. They will be going home on Monday and need to be returned for Friday. This means they are to read and re-read the books in their bag all week (2-3 books). The practice will help with fluidity and flow as well as new vocabulary practice.
Flex math:  we will continue groups this week on Monday and Thursday. (There are not usually groups on Wednesday, and with no school Tues we are down to 2 days...)
Have a great week and a wonderful Easter week end!
Bryanna
