Weekly Update/Reminders

​Hello families,

The following are updates and reminders for the week of Oct. 30 – Nov. 3:
·        Continue to practice structures and numbers at home.  Students can practice saying three-digit numbers up to 1 000.  Students are encouraged to use Dreambox to strengthen their math skills.
·        In math, we are continuing to practice representing numbers in a variety of ways.  We are also ordering and comparing numbers.  This week we started using referents to help make estimations.
·        In literacy, we are continuing to practice the vowel sounds as well as «ou, on, ch & é».  Students are using the structures they know to describe themselves and their friends (il/elle) orally and in writing.  We are also reviewing prepositions and starting to incorporate these in our writing.
·        The WE Scare Hunger initiative continues until Friday of this week.  Please send a non-perishable food item with your child if you are able.  All proceeds will go to the food bank.
The following are important upcoming dates:
  • November 10th: no school due to Professional Learning
  • November 13th: no school due to Remembrance Day holiday
  • November 17th: School Clothing orders due
  • November 20th: Report Cards go home
  • November 21st : 24th: Scholastic Book Fair
  • November 23rd (evening) and 24th: Parent Teacher interviews
