Weekly Update and Reminders

Dear families,
The following are reminders and updates for this week (September 25 – September 29):
·    Literacy – We are continuing to review our vowel sounds and the letters of the alphabet.  Students received a new updated sheet of oral structures to practice at home this week.  We will be learning the vocabulary to describe our family this week.  Continue to practice the alphabet and numbers at home.
·    Math – We are continuing to work on the patterns unit.  Students have worked hard to learn how to describe the pattern rule in French for increasing patterns (shapes and numbers).
·    Dreambox is an excellent tool to support math skill development.  Please let me know if you have trouble accessing your child’s account.
·    A reminder that students will be dismissed at 11:00 am tomorrow, Tuesday, September 26, as teachers have professional development.
·    Thank you to all families who have participated in our annual DFS Fundraiser.  Please send in any orders by the end of this week.
·    Thursday will be our annual Terry Fox Run.
·    Friday is Orange Shirt Day in support of the Every Child Counts campaign for awareness of the impact of Residential Schools.
