MATH - Ouellette

Today's class started out with us correcting last night's word problem on the school's swimming pool.  Students were then introduced to their first mental math activity of the year.  I recommended to all 5 classes to add a sheet protector in their binders to collect and save these mental math slips for use and study purposes in the future.  Needless to say, I saw students place them in the recycling bin :(.   Before the end of class, students were asked to copy down tonight's word problem and to complete it for tomorrow.  We will start tomorrow's class by correcting it.  Students will then have practice questions to do from the grade 8 textbook.

Please note that students can expect a summative test next week on perfect and non-perfect numbers as well as the Pythagorean Theorem.  Everything they need to be successful on the test is located in their math binder; more specifically in their journal and P.D.J. / Math Mental sections.

Have a great day

Mr.Ouellette
