The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is one of the most successful Rotary programs run by Rotary clubs around the world. The fun and intensive training program for 15 to 30 year olds offers the leaders of the future a chance to get a head start at an early age. 

The RYLA program gives young people and young adults the chance to improve leadership and communication skills, learn about businesses and institutions, explore career paths, share ideas and experiences, learn how to coordinate youth activities and community ser​vice projects in the community, and discuss creative approaches for resolving family, social, and professional conflicts. 

In Rotary District 7810, RYLA aims to: 

• Give young people the chance to come together in a supportive environment to gain a better understanding of their own strengths and the unique qualities and abilities of others 

• Facilitate learning about teamwork, communication, motivation and to develop the leadership skills of young people through experiential workshops 

• Create a greater awareness of social issues affecting young people and 

• Demonstrate Rotary's commitment to young people. 

When and where is RYLA held? 

The 2019, District 7810 RYLA will be held at Kingswood University in Sussex, NB on May 17th & 18th . Registration starts at 5:00 pm on Friday with workshops and activities taking place all day Saturday until 5pm. A closing ceremony will start at 4pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend the closing ceremonies or are asked to pick up their children no later than 5pm when the Camp closes. 

Who pays for RYLA? 

Each RYLA candidate can be sponsored by a Rotary Club from District 7810. The sponsoring club will pay $150 for each youth participating in the program. If a participant is not sponsored by a Rotary Club, they will be responsible for the $150 fee. 

Award 

One participant at this RYLA event between the ages of 18 to 30 will be selected to participate (all expenses paid) at the RYLA Conference held in Washington, DC from July 2-July 7, 2019.​​
